1930 : 'Mellor Mill fire' with a photograph of firemen working on the shell of the warehouse at Cataract Mill which had been gutted earlier
1867 : Report on the inability of the culvert under the road at Cataract Bridge to cope with the water which spread across the mill yard in a lake about 100 yards long and 12 feet deep
1970 : 'Mill fire cuts water pressure' The mill sprinkler system was found to have operated and saved the mill from the smoke developing into a disastrous fire.
