Two pockets containing newspaper cuttings from various publications on Marple and Rose Hill railways 1960 - 1989 and 1990 - 2018
1968 - 1969 Marple station in poor condition, delays in plans for improvements. Plans to close Rose Hill to Macclesfield and New Mills to Hayfield lines
1970 - 1979 Marple station - demolition of old buildings, rebuilding and the opening, vandalism. Flying Scotsman passes through
1980 New railway signalling scheme in Marple and Romiley areas
1990 - 1999 Passengers at Romiley, Marple and Rose Hill complain of poor time-keeping, cancellations and shut-downs. Closures possible at Rose Hill and Woodley.. Cuts in train frequency. Plans to replace old rolling stock on Marple and Rose Hill lines. Request for a Marple to Stockport rail link. Rose Hill bridge improvements.
2000 - 2009 Video cameras to catch vandals. Retirement of Class 101 diesel. Extension to car parking at Marple station
2010 - 2019 Proposals for tram-train network. 150th anniversary of Marple station's opening. Plans for wooden discs to be illustrated and used to decorate a wall at Rose Hill Station. Suggestion for a new rail link to Stockport.
